The Senior Engineer will project lead cross functional teams to successfully plan and execute strategic component supply transfer initiatives as well as transform value steam capabilities through innovative VAVE and Lean-Sigma Strategies. Responsibilities include leading all activities to define, design, develop and deliver strategic component supply transfer objectives through application of technical and project management skills. Business case development and financial analysis are part of the planning process.
As project leader, the Senior Engineer provides direction and leadership to a cross-functional transfer team responsible for ensuring project commitments are achieved through organization, leadership, business case management, stakeholder engagement, risk management, issue resolution, planning and execution.
The Senior Engineer and project team will meticulously collaborate with suppliers to design, characterize, develop and qualify high capability processes supporting downstream manufacturing customers. This critical role will deliver comprehensive operational strategies committed to achieving process capability through the systematic application of six-sigma to achieve value stream stability and Lean to achieve the shortest possible lead time by eliminating all forms of waste to optimize the value stream lead-time and performance.
**A Day in the Life**
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
+ **Business case development** working with cross functional teams to establish the value of the project and scope of work
+ **Quality System Compliance** understanding and adherence to ensure processes consistently fulfill requirements and meet customer needs.
+ **Project Leadership** though the discipline of initiating, planning, executing and controlling the work of a cross functional team to achieve defined goals and meet success criteria within the given constraints.
+ **Continuous improvement** of products, services and processes through incremental and breakthrough improvements. Applying Lean to eliminate waste in the value creation process and controlling variation by reducing the probability that an error or defect will occur.
+ **Value Analysis/Value Engineering** as a systematic process to creatively assess and generate alternatives to identify essential functions at the greatest value. Value engineering through the systematic method to improve output by using rigorous examination of function.
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:**
_TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME_
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelors degree required
+ Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
**Nice to Have**
+ B.S. or M.S. Engineering; PMP certification a plus.
+ Lean sigma (or equivalent) certification a plus
+ 10 years product, process manufacturing or supply chain quality engineering experience leading cross functional projects.
+ A proven track record in the delivery of large and complex product transfer projects to time and budget within a regulated environment.
+ Experience in medical device technology preferred.
+ Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, often across different sites and geographies.
+ Experience creating business cases and evaluating the value of a proposed project.
+ Broad understanding of medical device development processes compliant with QSR and ISO 13485.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Project to develop schedules, allocate resources and establish program budgets.
+ A self-motivated team player with excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to convey business and technical concepts to diverse stake-holders and technical teams in a clear and concise manner.
+ Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods and coordination of interdisciplinary teams.
