Overview
MBP is seeking candidates for a Lead Construction Claims Analyst/Senior Construction Claims Analyst opportunity, with significant experience developing and/or performing review and analysis of construction claims, specifically related to delay, loss of productivity, and cost impacts. Location: Tampa, FL, Raleigh, NC, or Fairfax, VA area.
Responsibilities
MAIN DUTIES
Performs review and analysis of construction claims and related project documents.
• Assists with development of contractor claims and owner responses to contractor claims.
• Develops and/or reviews time extension requests.
• Develops and/or reviews productivity impact analyses.
• Develops and/or reviews requests for additional direct and time-related costs .
• Assists with development of expert reports, compilation of supporting documentation, and exhibits.
• Assists with development of illustrative graphics presentations (e.g., PowerPoint) for specific venues related to construction disputes and seminars.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant experience which equates to these degrees.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP), Certified Cost Professional (CCP), and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Significant experience developing and/or performing review and analysis of construction claims, specifically related to delay, loss of productivity, and cost impacts.
• Proficient in technical writing and experienced in drafting expert reports and deliverables.
• Highly proficient in Oracle P6 and experienced with one or more of the following critical path method (CPM) scheduling software applications: Microsoft Project, Phoenix Project Manager, or similar.
• Additional experience in one or more of the following: construction management, cost estimating, CPM scheduling, value engineering, risk management, constructibility review, and/or contract administration.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical topics to a non-technical audience.
• Proficient in reading/understanding construction plans and specifications.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficient in organizing and extracting large amounts of data from project record documents, performing data analysis, using Pivot Tables, and developing illustrative graphics from data analytics.
• Experience navigating electronic document management platforms and performing document research, extraction, and organization.
• Experience providing training and supervision of analysis teams desired.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.
