Position Summary
The Branch manager is accountable for the branch’s growth and profitability, and for ensuring a high level of customer service and operational efficiency.   He/she manages the overall activities of the branch to achieve service quality, sales, marketing and financial growth goals;   represents the bank in the community and proactively seeks new customer relationships; and ensures the security, policies and audit procedures are followed as outlined by policy and regulation.
Main Accountability/Responsibilities
• Directs sales initiatives and delivers effective strategies to achieve branch goals for revenue, growth, and profitability.
• Assess team and individual performance, identify and address skill and knowledge gaps to increase the effectiveness and performance of branch employees.
• Creates a positive work environment and ensures optimum branch staffing. Provides direction and leadership to branch staff with emphasis on delivering excellence in customer service, achieving sales goals, and teamwork.
• Develops and coaches branch staff; conducts performance counseling as well as evaluations of employee performance.
• Conducts branch meetings with staff to communicate topical issues, review product and operations updates, set goals, convey results, provide recognition and skill review.
• Acquires new business relationships as well as expands and retains existing customer relationships. Secures and services profitable relationships with retail customers.
• Opens new accounts and resolves banking issues.
• Contribute to the profitability of the branch through active participation in business development efforts, client retention, controlling non-interest expense items and ensuring increases in fee income.
• Proactively sell, promote and explain all products and services offered, cross-sell related products and services with emphasis on establishing multiple account relationships with clients
• Serves as a community liaison representing the Bank in local organizations.
• Provide operational support to the entire staff, including check authorizations and resolution of customer issues.
• Maintain prescribed security controls to protect the bank against criminal and fraudulent activity.
• Ensures the application of, and compliance with regulation, bank policies, procedures, and operational integrity
• Cultivate relationships with the store associates to garner referrals of customers within and outside the facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the overall operation and profitability of the branch.

Work Environment/Physical Demands*
Typically an in-store environment.  Ability to work in a small area, and interact face-to-face with customer over a four foot counter for an extended period of time. Ability to lift boxes of coin and money drawers weighing up to 30 lbs.  Ability to retrieve and replace safe deposit boxes weighing up to 30 lbs., height up to 6 feet.  Ability to reach over counter to help customers. Ability to reach upper cabinets for supplies.  Ability to access facility.  Ability to move through retail store to speak with customers.  Ability to operate and read computer terminal screen.
Qualifications Summary
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
Five years’ experience in Retail branch banking, with a minimum of three years in a supervisory role. In-store retail banking preferred
Skills*
• Displays basic math proficiency, financial acumen and knowledge of banking industry,products, and regulatory understanding
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Track record of leading and coaching team to “higher” results, including sales excellence, consistent delivery of exceptional service, and operational integrity
• Strong background in sales and sales management practices
• Ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with local community & civic organizations, including participation in CRA qualified committees
• Knowledge of staff management practices, including performance management and progressive discipline
• Strong PC knowledge to include Word, Excel and applicable internal branch systems.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
