Full Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Monitoring and prioritizing calls taken from various departments to coordinate personnel in the organizing and planning of procedures, set-ups, installation and repairing of production equipment and special purpose machines, including equipment’s electrical supply lines and circuits, electrical/electronic controls, piping and tubing, pneumatic controls and systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Works with department Leaders to delegate the activities of Maintenance Mechanics in order to optimize response times and resolve issues, set schedules.
• Upon diagnoses from mechanics, makes and determines complexity, refers complex situations and lengthy machine downtimes to Group Leaders and higher supervision.
• Administers general preventative maintenance duties.
• Utilizing the MP#2 system, establishes guidelines for equipment, assessment and scheduled service.
• Oversees and delegates assignment of duties for diagnosing troubleshooting, determining the extent of repairs, determining estimated labor time for outside repairs, or making the necessary repairs and adjustments as efficiently as possible.
• Meets with Group Leaders to determine daily and weekly work priorities and adjusts work activities accordingly.
• Attending meetings when the Group Leader is not present.
• Serves as department contact when Group Leader is unavailable.
• Relays and shares information with employees and other departments in a timely manner.
• Schedules meetings with staff and attends meetings with other departments to ensure optimum communication.
• Provides positive and negative feedback to employees verbally and in writing.
• Documents feedback through Confirmation of Conversations (COC).
• Participates in annual performance reviews for employees.
• Assists employees with difficult or unusual situations, making decisions about disposition of situation or the need to seek additional authorization for action.
• Helping in the interview process of prospective employees.
• Oversees and utilizes safe machine guard placement and protection for safe operation by production personnel.
• Inspects equipment and tests performance of equipment following repairs, checks for correct dimensional accuracy and visible material part defect acceptability.
• Makes note of parts used and assures requisition orders are filled out.
• Plans and coordinates major equipment repairs, requisitions needed replacement parts and utilizes alternate sources to meet production needs.
• Overseeing all work is in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Stays informed and utilizes Lock Out and Tag Out procedures, technical accuracy, efficiency and conformity to company policies.
• Promotes teamwork and continuous improvement
• Strives to meet and exceed individual, departmental, and corporate goals.
• Shares knowledge and encourages personnel interaction for continuous training and development among all employees.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads a team of Maintenance Mechanic workers.
QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid driver’s license with class E qualification and clean driving record.
• Operate a variety of hand tools and equipment.
• Must actively participate as a member of the team and be willing to maintain high levels of productivity, occasionally sustaining longer working hours when necessary.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum of five years experience in journey-level equipment maintenance. Solid knowledge of electrical/electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Good oral and written communication skills
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Algebra and computation skills
REASONING ABILITY • Ability to prioritize, monitor and coordinate a moderate number of employees and assignments.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel occasionally domestically.
