Physical Requirements
Applicant must be able to lift, carry, and handle objects of at least 50 pounds.
Applicant must also be able to work outdoors throughout the year to assist with field work, this includes the heat of the summer and occasionally during the cold months of winter.
Shift
Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (40 hrs/wk)
During the crop growing season different hours, either earlier start times or later end times, may be necessary to complete research activities.
Occasionally weekends and rarely holidays may also be necessary.
Job Summary
The Grain Crops Agronomic Extension Associate will be stationed at the Research and Education Center in Princeton, KY. This position will be responsible for developing and delivering innovative educational programs to producers, county agents, industry professional and any other interested parties on profitable and sustainable wheat, soybean, and corn production in KY. The Grain Crops Agronomic Extension Associate will also assist with applied research projects to allow high-level understanding of agronomic principles of wheat, soybean, and corn production in KY, which includes experimental design, data collection and analyses, & summarizing results of research projects. This position will also be responsible for coordinating and summarizing the results of the annual wheat, soybean, and corn yield contests that are jointly sponsored by University of Kentucky’s Cooperative Extension Service, KY Small Grain Growers Association, KY Soybean Promotion Board, & KY Corn Growers Association.
Experience with row crop production in Kentucky is required.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
MS Windows; Office applications; SAS or equivalent statistical analysis software; and experience in row crop production in Kentucky.

Preferred Education/Experience
Master’s Degree.
Kentucky Pesticide Applicators License preferred.
