We are currently seeking a highly motivated Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join our team. The ISSO will assist in the coordination of cybersecurity related processes and activities for Information Systems and related interfaces. The processes include, but are not limited to, Risk Management Framework (RMF) and system authorization, Cyber Incident Handling, System Life Cycle Management Processes (e.g., Engineering Change and Configuration Management), Vulnerability Management, Malware Protection, Security Assessments/Evaluations/Reviews, Continuous Monitoring, Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN) Connection Approval Process, and Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP).
Position Information:
This position is with the Secretary of the Air Force Concepts, Development and Management Office (SAF/CDM) Network and Architectures Directorate (CDMN) Mission Partner Capabilities Office (MPCO).
The MPCO is charged with providing DoD-wide enterprise-level development, integration, systems engineering and synchronized delivery of mission capabilities and DoD-wide enterprise services that support interagency, strategic, allied, multinational, coalition, joint and combined Command and Control (C2) and intelligence coalition information sharing requirements. These capabilities include cross-domain services, cybersecurity and interoperability testing. The MPCO assumes responsibility for modernization, management, integration, and consolidation of the Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIXS), Pegasus, Combined Federated Battle Laboratory Network (CFBLNet), Virtual Data Centers (VDCs), US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation Systems (US BICES) and US BICES extended (US BICES-X).
Daily Responsibilities Include :
The ISSO will provide onsite support to MPCO Information System Security Managers (ISSMs) where MPCO Information Systems are located. He/she will assist the MPCO in coordination of cybersecurity related processes and activities for MPCO Information Systems and related interfaces. The processes include, but are not limited to, Risk Management Framework (RMF) and system authorization, Cyber Incident Handling, System Life Cycle Management Processes (e.g., Engineering Change and Configuration Management), Vulnerability Management, Malware Protection, Security Assessments/Evaluations/Reviews, Continuous Monitoring, Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN) Connection Approval Process, and Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP).
The ISSO will work with the Cyberspace Capabilities Division and other MPCO Divisions to provide iterative innovation proposals to be implemented quarterly, by proposing best practices, innovative technology, and/or process improvements that would support the overarching objective of managing the Division's daily operations more efficiently and effectively across the MPCO Enterprise. Proposals may include methods for increasing mission capability, enhancing customer experience and improving coordination across the geographically dispersed enterprise. The ISSO will also provide cost/benefit analysis proposals for Government review for any recommended efforts that require resources external to their organization.
Required Qualifications:
• Current and active TS/SCI clearance granted by the Department of Defense or an Intelligence Community agency.
• Ten (10) years of experience performing ISSO work.
• Six (6) years of ISSO experience pertaining specifically to a component of the DoD relating to the task areas being supported.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience as a staff action officer (e.g. DoD Staff, Service Staff, CCMD staff, Joint Staff, or equivalent), and may be included in the years of technical experience.
• Master's Degree in the stated discipline OR Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years additional ISSO experience.
• Experience supporting technical security of military systems with at least two of which include experience in coalition operations and at multi-level security solutions supporting coalition environments or bilateral military information sharing efforts.
• IAM Level II certification (i.e., CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP, GSLC, or CCISO) mandatory, CEH desirable. Will comply with DoD established Directive 8140.
• Experience with the following processes: Risk Management Framework (RMF) and system authorization, Cyber Incident Handling, System Life Cycle Management Processes (e.g., Engineering Change and Configuration Management), Vulnerability Management, Malware Protection, Security Assessments /Evaluations/Reviews, Continuous Monitoring, DODIN Connection Approval Process, and Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP).
• Experience working on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performing all functional duties independently.
• Experience overseeing the efforts of a staff and/or being responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with the highest levels of management.
• Ability to professionally prepare and present analytical documents for senior military and defense officials.
• Must have requisite engineering degree as applicable to engineering or program management certification as applicable to program management; cost/schedule/performance background and ability to develop materials and brief senior leaders on complex issues. *The government would consider other technical degrees or special case exemptions on a case by case basis if the person has experience and a proven track record.
