The goal of the Real Estate Support Specialist is to prepare residential mortgage loan documentation from application through the closing documentation process including all processing functions, such as ordering titlework, appraisals and balancing with the title company.  The Real Estate Support Specialist will also be responsible for the post-closing and funding of mortgage loans.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Independently prepare residential real estate loan documentation as required.
• Order Appraisal, Title work, and Surveys as appropriate for each loan request.
• Review title searches for exceptions to policy, correct vesting and verification of lien position.
• Coordinate with Title Company to balance closing statement.
• Understand and review all necessary loan documents for accuracy and for necessary documents to perfect loans.
• Respond appropriately to all inquiries regarding loan administration and documentation issues.
• Utilize KACE ticketing system as the department workflow process, prioritizing tickets by request type and date sensitivity.
• Provide direct assistance to internal/external clients with respect to existing or new loan requests.
• Communicate with impact and enthusiasm in formal and informal settings.
• Maintain a working knowledge of lending compliance law, loan servicing regulations, real estate legal issues and state lending laws, including UCC requirements.
• Working knowledge of post-closing processes, logistics, and servicing, including escrow requirements.
• Working knowledge and understanding of loan type specifications/requirements
• Flexibly apply rules or procedures, while remaining guided by the organization’s values.
• Contribute to a supportive learning environment by sharing knowledge.
• Demonstrate the ability to draw logical conclusions based on in-depth analysis of information and can recognize causes and consequences of actions and events that are not readily apparent.
• Demonstrate the ability to maintain continuous, open and consistent communication with staff and clients.
• Utilize current software (ex…Microsoft Office Suite, Navigator, Business Process Manager, Laserpro) and information technology to accomplish tasks.
• Perform other duties as requested
• Knowledge of both consumer and commercial credit, bank services, processes and logistics
• Provides direct assistance to clients with respect to existing or new product/service requests.
• Ability to assist Relationship Managers with portfolio management
• Assists clients with both business and personal accounts by partnering with the appropriate partner(s) to ensure the fulfilment of client needs.
• Follows up on loan files for specified documents and clears up any / all loan exceptions.
• Prepares and organizes loan packages in preparation for loan closing.
• Performs all post-closing duties once loan is signed by all necessary parties.
• Maintains proper credit quality maintenance of loan portfolios.
• Direct communication with compliance department on regular basis
• Uses technical skills to service clients and to expand and deepen client relationships by offering additional products and services.
Minimum Qualifications
• 5 years of Banking Experience
• Experience in processing residential mortgage real estate loans
• Experience using LaserPro or similar Loan Documentation program
• High school diploma / GED
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Registration as Mortgage Loan Originator through the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is required.
