Full Job Description Regional Water Resource Agency (RWRA) , the municipal wastewater (sewer) utility located in Owensboro, KY, is accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Worker .
Individuals in this position will complete a variety of manual tasks, as well as equipment operation, operating semi-tractor trailer and dump trucks, installing pipe, or any general labor involved with sanitary, storm, and wastewater treatment plant sewer installation, repair, and system inspection/cleaning.
Essential Job Duties:
* Repairing, installing, inspecting, and cleaning sanitary, storm, combined, and plant process sewer piping systems
* Operating construction heavy equipment/tools and sewer cleaning equipment, as well as semi-tractor trailer
* General wastewater treatment plant maintenance, as well as preventative maintenance on equipment and tools
* Working mainly in an outdoor environment, in frequently high noise levels, being in a standing, crouching, kneeling, or crawling position on a frequent basis, and lifting up to 100 lbs in any given day
* Performing confined space entries on a routine basis, such as in the piping of the sewer system, manholes, and trenches
* Executing traffic control on a routine basis
Job Preferences and Requirements:
* Prior work experience in the construction and repair of pipelines is preferred
* Being at least 18 years of age
* High school diploma or GED
* A valid driver’s license (current CDL Class A is a plus) is required prior to employment
Job Schedule:
* Full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt position openings, as well as establish an Eligibility List for Hire, regarding possible future openings
* Work hours are typically 7:00am-3:30pm, M-F
* May work evenings and weekends, as needed
* Required to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on a rotating basis as scheduled; 30 minute response time to report to work while on-call
Pay Range and Benefits:
* Beginning pay rate may range from $15.52/hour to $16.55/hour, depending upon relative work experience and education
