Poison Control Representative (COVID-19 Hotline)- Temporary
The Poison Center is enhancing staffing to support the increase in calls related to the COVID-19 Hotline, supporting the Florida Department of Health. Tampa General Hospital is seeking Poison. Control Representatives to join our team to assist with this initiative. Students in Nursing, Pharmacy, Paramedics/EMT and other clinical programs are strongly preferred in this role. This is a temporary
position (4-6 months) that will vary based on department needs. Primary duties will be reading from the FAQs provided by the Poison Center and entering data into the database. Please note this position will have no patient contact.
In this role you will be responsible for:
• Responding to general inquiries regarding COVID-19 by using FAQs provided by the Poison Center.
• Entering data into databases.
• Gathering and recording pertinent test results.
• Reviewing and documenting recorded calls to ensure data integrity.
• High School graduate or GED
• Nursing Students, Pharmacy Students, and Paramedics are preferred.
• Ability to use computer and office equipment and a familiarity with databases.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Must be detail oriented and able to synthesize and succinctly report an interview.
