ROLE SUMMARY
The role collaborates with Study teams and works with Sr. Finance Managers, providing financial support (budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis) to priority late and early stage studies spanning the categories within WRDM and GPD Portfolios. The colleague will coordinate information from various sources across the WRDM and GPD organizations to prepare budgets and forecasts for the medicines and will provide financial support for Research Unit and/or Clinical Development operating expenses.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides life of study budget and financial support for priority late and early stage studies spanning the categories within WRDM and GPD Portfolios Responsible to maintain updated forecast data into R&D Mosaic. Responsible to provide analytical financial support for Research Unit and/or Clinical Development operating expenses.
• Routinely interacts with the Sr. Finance Managers, Study Managers, Clinical Study Team Leads, RU Cost Center Managers, as well as supports the clinical teams and Pharm Sci teams in managing medicine life of program budgets and advises on financial impacts operational decisions (hereinafter referred to Client/Partners). Develop the complete Study Budget in partnership with Client/Partners.
• Partners with the R&D Finance Category Leads and Senior Managers to provide Client/Partner financials in support of the overall portfolio financial management and investment decisions.
• Coordinates information from various sources across the WRDM and GPD organizations to prepare budgets and forecasts for the medicines and operating expenses as well as ensures accuracy of actual spend reporting and accrual balances and conducts ad hoc analysis to assist with decision making.
• Should have solid financial and analytical skills, a demonstrated ability to work proactively, influence and relate well to others, which will further enable the candidate to advise, support and problem solve with Client/Partners.
• Prepare business results, financial projections and analyses, Identify trends, opportunities and recommendations for action to clients.
• Coordinates budgeting and forecasting processes with clients and other internal stakeholders to ensure quality, accuracy and timeliness of the month end close and reporting, forecasts, and annual operating plan.
• Collaborates with clients to manage budget within authorized target, support decision making and drive efficiency savings. Provide financial analysis in support of Operating Plan.
• Participates in continuous improvement efforts within the broader R&D Finance organization.
• Ensure compliance with all fiduciary responsibilities and finance policies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 3-5+ years of finance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience should include budgeting, forecasting, planning and analysis for a global organization.
• Knowledge of accounting and prior experience in monthly financial close activities.
• Experience with the Microsoft suite of applications, SAP and Mosaic preferred.
