Staff VP, Finance & Accounting
Position Purpose:
• Provide leadership and oversight of the Medicare business unit finance, monthly/quarterly/annual financial close and forecasting and analysis functions to include the Gross Margin/SG&A reporting, variance reports, forecasting and analytical support.
• Develop and oversee finance related activities for business unit including developing and monitoring progress against Annual Operating Plan, Monthly Close and Quarterly Forecasting
• Responsible for financial and accounting analysis, identification of month end financial drivers, and forecasting
• Develop, review, communicate, and present strategic plans, operating budgets and forecasts
• Ability to take on/lead complex multi-cross functional projects and drive them to closure
• Monitor and analyze business processes and systems to ensure data and system integrity
• Direct analytical needs and coordinate reporting strategy
• Direct support activities and timely information related to drive profitability
• Ensure optimization and accurate reporting of various financial related matters
• Provide financial plan for performance variances, operating alternatives, program and ROI/investment initiatives
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.  9 years of financial analysis or accounting experience.  General knowledge of accounting principles.  Experience working in a managed care or insurance environment, preferably Medicare or Medicaid.  Previous experience managing staff, including hiring, training, managing workload and performance.
Preferred Experience:
• Process oriented and has run FPA (revenue/expense/gross margin/SG&A)/the overall financial forecasting process.
• Knowledge/experience in the Medicare product
• Tools – very proficient in financial systems/Hyperion and knowledge
• Ability to take on/help lead complex multi-cross functional projects and drive them to closure (i.e. quality reclass, SG&A allocation)
