PACS IT ADMINISTRATOR Business & Information Technology Hours: 8-4:30, M-F Day Shift - Full Time Paygrade/Wages/Salary Info: EX E33 - 33.6000 - 42.1500
PACS IT Administrator Position Highlights: The PACS Administrator, will be responsible for the development, planning, monitoring, troubleshooting, implementation, maintaining the day-to-day operations related to the computer systems used to support Radiology operations, after hours support for both planned and unplanned outages, and training of clinical staff on the computer systems. These systems include PACS, RIS, Voice Recognition and others that may be used in the department. Must also have an understanding of Radiology processes and its different modalities, how they function and interact/interface with one another. The Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will have IT healthcare experience with an emphasis on supporting the Radiology dept and related IT systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting GE PACS The candidate will have experience or a background in supporting and implementing VNA installations. Responsibilities: Monitors PACS, RIS, Voice Recognition, and other systems that may be used within the department on a daily basis Troubleshoots and coordinates calls with vendors to provide issue resolution Facilitates calls with vendor and key stakeholders regarding upgrades, system improvements, installation and implementation of new systems Develops project time-lines in conjunction with the department key stakeholders Maintain inventory list of hardware and software applications, including interfaces, servers, workstations, relevant peripherals, and radiology equipment Coordinates and/or trains physicians, Nurses and Radiology staff in the use of PACS and related systems Reviews feedback from customers, compiles and analyzes support data, and recommends procedural and educational changes as appropriate. Work with the Disaster Recovery coordinator to develop and maintain manuals and recovery procedures Serve as SME and project lead for SDLC event planning and execution Develop and update PACS disaster plan Develop upgrade plans for all system infrastructure Communicate SDLC events to leadership to ensure incorporation into solution roadmap Coordinate SDLC events with IT and Radiology leadership to ensure that upgrades have minimal customer impact Duties include user management, data integrity, image workflow, archiving, auto-routing, and pre-fetching and other related activities. Works closely with unit operations managers to ensure timely and complete capture of DICOM digital image data into the PACS system as well as network transmission, RIS validation, and exceptions handling Investigates, identifies, and prepares proposals to solve specific operational problems within all clinical operational areas Works closely with radiology leadership and personnel to identify and design future needs and efficient workflow processes, which include further integration into operations Define system build requirements and on-going system maintenance plans Troubleshoot pathology end user hardware and server/workstation technical issues Credentials and Experience: Bachelor#s Degree required; field of study, Computer Science or healthcare systems ****in lieu of a Bach Degree; an Associate#s degree with an additional two (2) years IT Radiology systems support plus the five (5) years for a total of 7 years IT healthcare experience emphasis on supporting the IT Radiology systems may be considered or High school diploma with an additional four (4) years IT Radiology systems support plus the five (5) years for a total of 9 years IT healthcare experience empharsis on supporting the IT Radiology systems may be considered Minimum Five (5) years IT healthcare experience emphasis on supporting the Radiology department and related IT systems. Minimum 5 years experience supporting the Radiology department and systems. Background in supporting GE PACS. Knowledge of DICOM, TCP/IP Preferred exp: Knowledge of HL7 Familiarity with agile software development concepts
