Overview / Job Summary
Commonwealth Rolled Products is a leading manufacturer of Aluminum rolled products for the Automotive, Commercial, and Industrial markets. The Company operates its production facility in Lewisport, KY with the support of an Automotive Innovation Center for R&D, Sales and Field Service in Madison Heights (DET), and Inside Sales in the Cleveland, OH area.
Our production facility is seeking to add a talented Human Resources Administrative Assistant to its Human Resources team. This role will provide a wide range of administrative and general support to the Human Resources team.
Responsibilities Include
• Represent Human Resources to employees, management, and vendors in a professional, courteous manner. This includes maintaining confidentiality of confidential and protected information.
• Perform general office and support duties such as answering phones, maintaining supplies, distributing mail, preparing courier shipments and operating copiers/ fax machines.
• Prepare and create presentations and correspondence using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including graphics, charts, objects/ pictures etc.
• Schedule meetings, prepare conference rooms, set up webinars and coordinate conference calls.
• Make travel arrangements and expense reports for Director, Human Resources.
• Coordinate events (community engagement, employee events) as required.
• Order, distribute and track service awards.
• Create all new personnel files and maintain existing files and file rooms, including I-9 management.
• Support internal and external audits by retrieving the requested documentation.
• Create and maintain new hire binders.
• Assist with new hire paperwork, IT systems access, benefits enrollment, direct deposit and tax withholding set up.
• Assist with initial candidate phone screens, interview scheduling, reference checks and background and drug screens.
• Responsible for data entry and status changes into HRIS.
• Assist with plantwide mailings and distributions.
• Set up HR vendors and request timely payment for invoices received.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience supporting management personnel
• Superior knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office is a must.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills required.
• Must be able to manage confidential matters with the utmost discretion.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with limited supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with customers and management.
• Capable of working under pressure, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Positive, high level of energy, and self-motivated.
• Ability to interface with employees at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
• A.S. or B.S. in Human Resources or Business Administration
