Vice President of Technology
Point & Pay - Oldsmar, FL (Remote to start due to COVID19)
The Vice President, Technology will lead the company's product development and delivery efforts to rapidly address market needs and platform enhancement requirements.  This senior management role will set strategic direction that aligns the technology platform and team with business objectives, building a service and delivery-oriented culture focused on internal and external customers. This role oversees all software, hardware, and processes related to creating, testing, delivering, and maintaining products utilized by internal and external customers.  The successful candidate will be required to interface with technology stakeholders throughout Point & Pay and its parent organization to set direction and continually align technology products with parallel work in production support and IT operations.  This role is critical to Point & Pay’s success and will be the most senior decision maker within the P&P technology organization.
What you'll be doing:
• Directly responsible for the timely delivery of technology products
• Executes development priorities as determined by sales, operations, and product management and continually enforces accountability, priority, and focus within the development team
• Oversee software quality, including the implementation of key metrics and improvement
• Ownership of all technology support, maintenance and modernization practices tied to current and future products
• Responsible for the technology operating budget
• Participate in executive-level planning to ensure the makeup and practices of the technology department align with the company’s strategic goals
• Determine and execute strategic direction for technology environments and tools based on best practices and emerging technologies
• Evaluate and right-size department resources to align with strategic objectives
• Maintain, evaluate, and improve team performance metrics
• Direct the continuous product development and software development lifecycle plans
• Oversee the creation of a platform performance standards and continuous improvement
• Ensure technology projects are delivered accurately, on-time and with high quality
• Oversee and enforce product and services architectural standards
• Ensure proper cooperation, communication, and knowledge sharing between departments
• Oversee and ensure contractual platform performance SLA are met
• Continuously evaluate process, personnel and technology for improvement
• Own relationship and interactions with support teams at parent company and with third- party partners
• Develop and perpetuate a focus on the integration capabilities of all Point & Pay products for easy use by clients and partners
• Build and maintain a technical knowledge repository
• Develop continue training plans for staff to ensure proper growth that support corporate objectives
• Integrate acquired assets into a scalable long-term platform strategy
What we need from you:
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a product, services and technology-rich environments
• 10+ years of client facing engagement with a focus on product development
• 5+ years of direct management of enterprise systems (SAAS)
• 5+ years of hands-on leadership skills with the ability to build teams, improved employee performance
• Ability to maintain industry-specific trends and recognize opportunities for P&P to buy vs build solutions
• Deep understanding of Java, Ruby on Rails and SQL DBs
• Experience delivering mobile solutions
• Experience delivering world-class UIX
How to be an all star:
• Experience in the payments or credit card industry
• Payment industry compliance/certification audit experience
• Ability to evaluate, plan, and implement solution with a proactive approach to finding innovative solutions
• Familiar with shared and outsourced solutions
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to clearly articulate opinions, recommendations, and delivery difficult messages internally and external
• Ability to build a customer service culture focused on internal and external services
• Experience building consulting services to support client needs as well as fill knowledge gaps
• Experience managing major and highly complex technical migrations, hardware/software upgrades and modernization
• Experience in helping organizations overcome tech debt
• Experience in helping organizations expedite the process of closing product gaps and accelerate to positions of market leadership in product delivery
