Overview / Responsibilities
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Transportation Team Lead for our Transportation services group in Florida. We are looking for an individual that wants to advance their career by joining our highly collaborative Engineering Team.  With a minimum of ten (15+) years of highway/roadway design and project management experience, you will lead team members to successfully complete construction documents for highway and roadway systems.  Career minded professionals with self-confidence and a teachable spirit find themselves advancing quickly. As a Transportation Project Manager, you will play a key role in expanding the capabilities of our growing our transportation group. The ideal candidate has strong relationships with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and has served as Project Manager on FDOT Projects in District’s 1, 2, 3, 5 and/or 7. This individual can live anywhere in the state of Florida as long as they are willing to travel as needed for business and client needs.
Key Responsibilities :
• Will be responsible for participating in and managing transportation/roadway design projects
• Build up backlog by pursuing and winning work as prime and subconsultant
• Manage Team members under the transportation umbrella
• Prepare and oversee preparation of the construction documents. (Plans, Special Provisions, and Estimates)
• Project Manage key pursuits and manage scopes, schedules, and budgets
• Manage client communications, expectations, and satisfaction
• Recognizes and initiates business development opportunities
• Maintains effective client relationships; leverages project experience to win work
• Lead and/or assist with the coordination, development and production of proposals, SOQs and presentations, ensuring the highest quality of information and documentation output
• Manage, advise, coach and develop junior engineers
Skills / Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science, as a Civil Engineer from an accredited college/university
• Florida Professional Engineers License
• 15+ years as a Transportation/Roadway Engineer/Project Manager
• Self-starter with strong oral and written communications skills
• Detail oriented, proactive individual who takes ownership of their work
• Proficiency in following software: • Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
• Inroads, MicroStation – latest FDOT requirements
• Experience with 3D modeling preferred
• Candidates must be familiar with FDOT design project delivery network and project advertising
• Availability to work outside normal business hours as required
• Ability and willingness to travel.  Approximately 25% overnight travel
• Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
• Preferred Qualifications :
• Leadership positions within public institution-oriented associations
• Working knowledge of Inroads and MicroStation
• Existing relationships with FDOT Projects
• Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationship and win work
• Motivated to develop business from new and existing clients
