Vector Solutions is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join the Accounting department. This role will be a key asset in the future growth of the company and will participate in all aspects of accounting and finance, including but not limited to billing, collections, accounts payable, payroll, budgets, forecasts and monthly close process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Day to day responsibility for the financial function of the firm including billing and collection, expense reimbursements and a broad range of other daily activities.
• Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close.
• Responsible for monitoring and improving all internal accounting controls and process improvements of accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
• Ensure accounting compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations.
• Assist in daily banking requirements, annual budget, monthly forecasting, and audit processes.
• Prepares, reviews and analyzes ad-hoc reports as needed.
• Assist with acquisition integrations.
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
• Timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
• Collaborates with the other team members to support overall department goals and objectives.
• Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
• Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervises staff members and ensures that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provides training and coaching to new and existing staff.
• Works with each direct report to establish goals and objectives and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
• Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
. Requirements:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required.
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
• Adept at identifying and proposing solutions to various business problems.
• Able to oversee large volume of transactions.
• Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks (adapting to change where necessary) in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to partner cross-functionally and communicate with all levels of the organization.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
• US GAAP experience
• 5+ years in an Accounting leadership role
• Advanced Excel
• Salesforce, NetSuite, Concur and Avalara experience
• Experience using ERP application, G/L, A/P and A/R
Preferred
• CPA preferred.
• Public Accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Track record of process improvement implementation/work in prior roles.
