Position Summary:
The Property Tax Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the Property Tax team in Tampa.
Essential Functions:
• Oversee the property tax team, including a Sr. Property Tax Analyst & Property Tax Specialist.
• Manage & review the monthly property tax accrual process.
• Review & post property tax payment entries.
• Manage 3rd party property tax vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data.
• Assist with the annual property tax budget.
• Manage annual property tax appeal process over assessments. Including, representing the Company in appeal hearings when necessary.
• Manage annual audit requests over property tax.
• Responsible for process improvements & automation of property tax reporting.
• Assist with ad hoc projects and reporting as necessary.
Qualifications:
• • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting/finance required
• 7 or more years of tax accounting experience
• Experience with property tax software
• Real Estate/Property Management experience strongly preferred
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Ability to be independent and a self-starter: is self-motivated and takes initiative
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
• Proven problem solving, analytical, troubleshooting and time-management skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with senior management and outside vendors.
• Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills; has ability to convey a clear and concise thought.
