Overview:
This position ensures compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations in support of Company operations, maintenance, and construction activities.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Provides technical guidance and assistance to various company departments concerning compliance with environmental regulations
• Provides support to other environmental staff members to enhance their professional development and productivity
• Prepares and submits documents related to gaining federal or state authorization for company activities or demonstrating compliance with applicable regulations to the respective agencies
• Monitors regulatory initiatives, estimates potential impacts to company and participates in the process involved in the rulemaking
• May serve as a liaison to regulatory agencies in support of company functions
• Performs various duties associated with the position as assigned
• Other duties as assigned
Other requirements:
•
Travel 10% average, automobile and plane
• Valid driver’s license and insurability
• Reliable attendance, scheduling flexibility when job demands require
• Ability to work positively and effectively prioritize in a high-stress, demanding environment
Qualifications:
Minimum
•
Bachelor’s degree in a science related field preferred
• Entry-level to 3 years of environmental work experience
• Knowledge of environmental rules and regulations
• Ability to comprehend and analyze regulatory initiatives and estimate the impact to the company
• Competence in written and oral communications
• Ability to oversee environmental projects
• Analytical and problem resolution abilities
• Knowledge of gas pipeline operations
• Ability to manage and oversee environmental projects
• Organizational skills necessary for compiling and manipulating data into appropriate records and reports in addition to maintaining compliance documentation
• Competence in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Works independently with minimal supervision
Preferred
•
Experience writing various NEPA documents preferred
• Experience drafting and procuring permits for wetlands and waterbody, endangered species, cultural resource, and other state and federal permits and/or clearances
• Experience with USACE, USFWS, SHPO, and FERC regulated natural gas pipelines preferred
