POSITION DESCRIPTION Business Segment: BRP Ops Position Title: Financial Systems Administrator Reports to Title: Senior Accounting Manager Colleague Classification: Exempt Position Summary:
The Financial Systems Administrator will be responsible for the day to day maintenance of our General Ledger System, Accounts Payable System, and Chart of Accounts structure. This position will function as the interface between the accounting and IT departments to ensure successful implementation and ongoing support efforts of our General Ledger System. The Administrator will be heavily involved in the implementation of a new ERP package which is scheduled to begin go live April 2021. He/She will also maintain the user access, segregation duties, and process workflows in our Accounts Payable System in fast-paced, growing organization.
Principal Responsibilities: •
Maintain entity and account structures within the chart of accounts, which includes set up of new accounts/entities, modifying existing accounts and maintaining consolidation mappings.
• Develop and maintain reports that satisfy business needs.
• Manage security and change management in accordance with SOX.
• Ensure adherence to process controls and procedures.
• Develop in-depth familiarity with each sub-system interfaces and controls. Understand how financial systems data interacts with other related systems.
• Support and assist in the design and implementation of a new ERP system.
• Support the user community with prompt, effective problem resolution.
• Manage user notifications for system updates, issues, or changes.
• Provide departmental training, testing and assistance as needed.
• Provide after-hours support, as needed.
• Looks for opportunities to improve organizational processes.
• Brings issues and discrepancies to the attention of the appropriate leader.
+Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or IT Systems.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• 3 – 5 years of experience in General Ledger Setup/Chart of Account maintenance.
• Functional understanding of Business processes and accounting.
• Conceptual insight of the inner workings of the General Ledger and Internal Controls.
• The ability to take business requirements and translate them into to system configuration.
• Understanding of SOX compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer focus and business partnering skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
• Highly detail oriented with exceptional follow-up and sense of urgency
• Must possess excellent organizational skills.
• Exhibits professional skepticism.
• Must demonstrate the organization’s core values, exuding behavior aligned with the firm’s culture.
