Job Summary:
We are seeking a senior Systems Engineer with strong virtualization (VMware, Nutanix, Azure) experience to support customers on our Enterprise Systems Operations team in Tampa, FL. In this role, you will bring experience, formal
knowledge, and delivery excellence to help Tampa General Hospital manage existing, and build new, services. Your primary focus will be to architect, support, deliver, automate and lead various Infrastructure efforts. You have experience operating distributed systems and resolving complex interrelated problems (preferably before they occur.) History of creating automated solutions is a plus.
• Bachelor's Degree, 4-6 Yrs of Experience in related field, or Associate's Degree 8 of IT Experience, or 10 Yrs of IT experience with no degree.
• VMware Certifications (VCP or VCAP level) and/or (5) years of experience in designing, implementing,migrating, managing and supporting VMware in the Enterprise, in addition to IT Infrastructure services
• Extensive skills and experience with VMware products, architecture, support, design
• Operational skills and experience with Nutanix and Azure highly preferred
• Project plan, documentation, communication skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
• Proven ability to design and implement secure, reliable and scalable system deployments
• Proven ability to automate engineering processes, including provisioning and de-provisioning of resources
• Administrative proficiency with Windows primarily, and Linux secondarily
• Experience with one or more commercial cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)
• Ruby, Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell or equivalent scripting experience
• Preferred: experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet or Salt
• Knowledge of Switches, VLANs, subnets, routing, of data traffic.
• Design, build and maintain virtualization and cloud-based environments capable of scaling with demand.
• Design and implement an operational toolset to ensure service availability
• Gather requirements, create designs, and implement prototypes using public and private cloud infrastructures
• Build and deliver the technology, automation and processes to manufacture and maintain production-grade solutions
• Gather requirements from functional teams for their integrations with third party products
• Research, install, document, maintain and troubleshoot infrastructure needs
• Peer development of team members
