Manpower Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Maintenance & Engineering team for our client in the Owensboro, KY area . Direct hire positions. Nice relo package .
Overview of job duties:
• Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications to E&A equipment, such as PLC's, drives, , etc., utilizing lean manufacturing techniques.
• Assist and lead maintenance in diagnosing equipment problems and recommend methods to prevent reoccurrence of these issues to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs in the CALP and Wide Cold Mill (WCM).
• Analyze and diagnose root causes of problems and failures recommending and providing solutions to maximize uptime.
• Identify potential problems or opportunities related to the proper and cost effective operation and maintenance of processes to reduce costs and increase throughput.
• Develop and maintain checklists for safety systems to guarantee optimal safety system operation.
• Provide and maintain a back-up system for the automation software (PLC and PC) for the plant.
• Maintain the integrity of engineering drawings files, projects, equipment archives, and updating any deficiencies that are discovered.
• Apply lean manufacturing techniques.
• Create contract specifications for E&A projects with regard of maximal safety, minimal downtime and optimal performance and life span of machines.
• Maintain compliance with all company and governmental regulations.
• Define the (E&A) norms for the plant (PLC, HMI, Hardware, etc.)
• Define the network layout for process networks and the interface to the plant network in cooperation with IT.
• Build effective partnerships with plant personal through the implementation of small capital projects.
• Provide technical assistance and training to all applicable personnel regarding electrical systems and functions.
• Optimize performance of (E&A) installations
• Interact with vendors, customers, contractors and employees at all levels of the organization; able to make decisions "under fire."
• Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Here's a summary of who we're seeking:
• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automated or Application Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience in PLC System Automation.
• Capable to understand and modify L1 Software on the automation platforms in use (Siemens S7, Rockwell, SMS Siemag X-pack, servo systems, ProBAS, …).
• Strong verbal and written communications skills, analytical skills, good PC skills, and project management skills.
• Must work well in a team environment and possess good leadership skills.
• Experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Good methodical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment and related issues.
• Ability to prepare and/or modify electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs.
• Ability to provide technical training to all applicable personnel regarding electrical systems and functions.
• Ability to perform CAD with AutoCad software.
• Some travel may be required.
