As a Data Scientist on our team, you have the chance to develop and maintain complex technologies to support the USAF in their pursuit of advanced analytics. Your technical expertise will be vital as you develop and enhance a variety of systems and data sources. You’ll increase your skills as a Data Scientist while gaining experience in defense, grow your skills by merging data science, systems engineering and integration to ensure system integrity. The Data Scientist will:
• Develop algorithms, write scripts, build predictive analytics, apply machine learning, and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn a set of disparate data points into objective answers to help leaders make informed decisions.
• Provide clients with a deep understanding of their data, what it all means, and how they can use it.
Experience Needed to Be Successful:
• 1-3 years of experience with one or more scripting or scientific languages, including Python, R, C, or Java
• 1-3 years of experience with applying machine learning techniques and the key parameters that affect their performance.
• 1-3 years of experience in working with a wide range of predictive and decision models and tools for developing models.
• Knowledge of statistical measures, including confidence intervals and the significance of error measurements, development, or evaluation data sets.
• Experience working w/ open source visualizations such as Kibana
• Experience working with Elasticsearch.
• Experience designing, developing, and implementing ETL pipelines.
• Experience in one or more natural language processing topics, including tagging, syntactic parsing, word sense disambiguation, topic modeling contextual text mining, and application of deep learning to NLP.
• Active TS clearance
• SCI Eligible
• BA or BS degree
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
• Experience with developing experimental and analytic plans for data modeling processes, using strong baselines, and determining cause and effect relationships accurately.
• Experience with enterprise computing and application services

About the Mission You Will Join:
The Air Force is seeking to enhance their data analytics capabilities, and the VMD team, in conjunction with our teaming partners, will develop and implement a data analytics solution that integrates, analyzes, and visualizes human resource and organizational information from multiple data sources. This system will also need to maintain interoperability certification and information assurance accreditation. We will provide the technical support required to sustain the fielded solution, which will be capable of performing analytics and integrating with both current and future semi-structured and structured datasets.
