The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and ensuring on-time completion for assigned client deliverables. This role acts as the liaison between the Account Services team and the Creative Services team. This role manages tasks and projects to reach the end outcome of an on-time and on-budget project. To do this they should have great skills in effective project set up, budget control, project tracking, reporting, risk issue analysis, and quality assurance. This role manages and maintains our digital project management platform, Wrike, and is responsible for the overall success and usage of the platform.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing and delivering projects
• Primary owner of internal digital project management platform - Wrike (Marketing / Enterprise edition)
• Works as liaison between Account Managers who submit the projects, and the Creative Services department who fulfills on the deliverables. This role manages who is assigned what, and ensures members of the Creative Services team start each day with the tasks needed to ensure projects stay on track.
• Manage and deliver multiple work streams for various types of digital communications projects within an account (e.g. web-site development, integrated campaigns, content creation, email marketing campaigns, etc.) to agreed scope, timings, budget, and quality
• Work with internal teams to help define project scope, resource requirements, and cost estimates for projects
• Be the hub of communication for the project - in regular contact with internal and external partners engaged in delivering our product
• Encourage and facilitate collaboration, setting up projects in Wrike (project management platform) to give full visibility but allow the team to collaborate independently
• Manage projects and deliverable templates ensuring consistent improvements
• Produce realistic timings in Wrike with clearly flagged milestones
• Be on top of your projects and know timings, key milestones, budgets, resourcing, risks, etc.
• Assess the time and financial impact of changes and communicate to clients as appropriate
• Be firm but fair in judgment: push back when scope creep or suggested budgets are not realistic whilst understanding the constraints of the client; be prepared and able to defend our position and profit margin internally and externally
• Understand the workings and needs of the account you are partnered with; have a good understanding of the brands you work on - their definitions, their core characteristics, how they should and shouldn't behave
• Understand the key technical aspects of the development process for website delivery, digital marketing etc. as appropriate to your client
• Ensure that all documentation, costings, briefs, scopes, and presentations are of the highest possible standard
• Be positive and a force for good in the team - even when faced with difficult problems; be solutions-focused
• Remain calm and stable under pressure
• Know when to delegate upwards and raise the alarm at the right time, to the right people when issues occur
• Be prepared to muck in on areas outside of your immediate team; this means sharing resource, helping on other accounts, taking part in pitches, or managing internal initiatives
REQUIREMENTS
• Understanding of basic project management concepts
• Understanding and/or experience with a digital project management platform, such as Wrike, Trello, Teamwork, or Asana
• Knowledgeable of all primary digital marketing channels
• Basic understanding of marketing automation software
• Experience in an agency or similar environment
