The Community Lending Intern will observe the community and commercial lenders in their efforts to obtain business. This position will explore the client relationship from introduction to loan request to underwriting. Significant emphasis will be placed on client acquisition and retention. Another aspect of the internship will explore the creation of a business plan for the Pinellas County market.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assist in the creation of a strategic business development plan for Pinellas County using Business Analytics tools.
• Observe commercial lenders on prospect, customer, and center of influence calls.
• Assess current versus outstanding financial statements needed; collect those that are in need and review client financial statements.
• Review and test financial covenants for the lending team.
• Various loan portfolio management assignments.
• Other tasks as assigned by department manager.
Requirements
Required Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite

• Ability to work independently or in a team setting
• Problem solving skills
Required Experience:
• High school diploma or GED and enrollment in a 2 or 4-year degree program.
• Enrollment in a 4-year college or university with a concentration in Economics, Finance, or Business preferred.
