About this role:
Reporting to the Network Operations Manager, the Network Operations department is looking for a highly motivated and passionate Assistant – Network Operations Scheduler (OSP & ISP).
The Assistant – Network Operations Scheduler (OSP & ISP) is responsible for reviewing and understanding any given project's complete work scope. This position is also responsible for determining the project's needs and assigning it to the OSP Construction crews, Central Office Installation team (COEI), or vendor.
What you'll do:
• Work orders (projects) related to OPCEN from engineering
• Update estimated in-service dates, scheduled finish dates, COEI ready dates, and dates for all tasks that need to be assigned.
• Add comments to the main comment page in Varasset to identify roadblocks and any other pertinent information related to the project.
• Utilize OPR for work order tracking and weekly/monthly update calls.
• Be able to provide current status on any project when information is requested using the OPR report, which pulls from Varasset, where all data is updated
• Update the Financial Project Status in Varasset throughout the project's life and update comments at a minimum weekly, so all business partners understand the status of projects.
ISP Work Orders/Projects
• OPCEN reviews WO information (SWOP) to understand the scope of work detailed on the project, check the status of inbound material; delivery estimates and overall assessment of materials required, and assignment of the project to the Central Office Installation team (COEI) or vendor.
• Work with the Material Control Center to obtain Scheduled Ship Dates (SSD) from the vendors and escalate delivery dates if needed.
• Perform material call outs from the HUDCO/FTR warehouse or yards to the field and coordinate delivery with the construction COEI/Net Ops
• Once project work is complete and installation completion notice received, document in Varasset the project completion, provide information on who was involved with the project (company, contractors), and update Ready for Service "RFS" in Infinium.
OSP Work Orders/Projects
• OPCEN reviews WO information to get the project's scope, check if permits and primary materials are needed (cable, poles, repeater housings, etc.) (ASR, FTTC, Pole, DOR, Roadmove, PDR, etc.).
• Coordinator documents in Varasset on the Notes section that they have received the WO and give a brief description of what the plans are for it and what is needed.
• Document in Varasset, the project completion, providing information on who was involved with the project (company, contractors) if MTF's were filed or submitted if the project was splicing only or materials were charged (MTF's), update Ready for Service "RFS" in Infinium.
Support for COEI/Contractors
• Work daily with installation LM's to ensure they can meet deadlines and complete projects on time.
• Prioritize tasks by those that are the most important or due first, scheduling to complete in order of priority.
• Communicate regularly with crews on work status, ensuring that they are working on priority projects first to meet expected deadlines and that they are providing regular updates and proper notifications
Support for Construction/Contractors
• Work daily with crews to ensure they can meet deadlines and complete projects on time.
• Prioritize tasks by those that are the most important or due first, scheduling to completed in order of priority.
• Communicate regularly with crews on work status, ensure that they are working on priority projects first to meet expected deadlines, and provide regular updates and paperwork (marked prints and MTF's).
Miscellaneous Functions
• Hold Monthly Open Project calls with engineering, construction, and other business partners.
• Track/escalate/expedite permits with engineering.
• Abide by all OPCEN Standard Processes
• Participate on calls for special projects with project management partners.
• MTF/MUSE Processing for Material usage
What you'll need:
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a similar field
• Strong project management experience and organizational skills
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills
• The ability to multi-task and have a solid follow up system
• Analytical and critical thinking skills
• Substantial knowledge and experience with Microsoft products, especially Excel
• Able to collaborate and effectively work with other teams
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of Varasset
• Knowledge of COE Engineering and Installation
• Knowledge of OSP Engineering and installation
• Knowledge of Infinium
• Knowledge of M6
• 5 years of experience or more
