What you’ll be doing...
You will be acting as a subject matter expert providing technical leadership for the voice application servers Telephony Application Server, Presence Server, Service Continuity Gateway, Media Resource Function Controller, Media Resource Processor, Call Session Control Function, Personal Ring Back Tones, Provisioning COM and OA&M Com and vNOM. The support will be provided during planning, staging, first office application, commercial deployment, and continued maintenance to a variety of teams that include Area/Regional Operations, Network Implementation, Product Development, HQ/Area Network Planning, National Network Operations, Information Technology, Revenue Assurance and other Maintenance Engineering groups to fulfill complex business requirements.
• Assist with the collection of penalties from the vendor for non-compliance.
• Review vendor performance regularly to ensure technical compliance with agreements.
• Provide administrative management of the monitored products, including negotiating Service Level Agreements, Statements of Work and General Purchasing Agreements.
• Knowledge on system architectures, system operations, end-to-end designs and device-system interactions to develop troubleshooting guides to be used by all other Network organizations.
• Analyze hardware/software design, features and enhancements to develop test plans that effectively confirm the successful deployment and operation of the product.
• Create and publish functional and technical requirements.
• Lead operational teams in the FOA process for the first installation.
• Manage Verizon and vendor lab environments, including testing and refining new hardware/software before approval for installation in the production environment.
• Support the Product Development teams in the submission of requests for new product functionality.
• Work with the vendor to develop and implement product roadmaps which improve the product performance, functionality and program profitability.
• Prime planning, design, equipment selection, staging, testing, and integration of new system hardware and software.

You work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and you’re great at partnering with the groups you support. You constantly look for ways to make a great network design better, and you’re a natural mentor to junior engineers looking to develop their technical skills.
You’ll need to have:
• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Wireless industry experience.
Even better if you have:
• Experience with IMS and/or VoLTE.
• A degree in computer science or electrical engineering.
• Experience with Red Hat Linux, virtualization (KVM),
• Experience with cloud architecture.
• Experience with Management and Orchestration (NFVi or Resource Orchestration).
• Experience with OpenStack (RHEL Director) and OpenStack services (Horizon, Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Ceilometer, Glance, Heat, Cinder/Swift, or Ceph).
• Project/vendor management experience.
• Experience with Python, bash, JSON, YAML, REST, or Ansible.
• Experience with QCOW2 or RAW images.
• Experience with TCP/IP, Routing and OSI 7-layer protocol.
• Experience with Server Load Balancing (SLB).
• Experience with network automation and deployment methods, managing data center elements, hardware, software, and power requirements, and overseeing vendors.
• Experience with CI/CD.
• Experience with Automation.
