What you’ll be doing...
You will be joining a team in Verizon responsible for developing automation tools for the tasks and processes that engineers execute in the Verizon network. Verizon is the industry leader in network performance and you will join in the excitement of rolling out 5G technologies and services! You will be a technical leader on our team that is engaged with leading edge technologies, developing network automation to accelerate service deployment. You will provide leadership in software development and network engineering, and manage the details of development projects.
• Ongoing development and maintenance of the ASPN Service Portal, the web-based “single pane of glass” front-end interface for all automation functions which is a component integrated with other systems in the overall automation platform.
• Providing leadership and engineering expertise to design and develop automations for core network engineering and operations.
• Working with the automation architect to align automation designs with the automation framework.
• Providing technical leadership to other automation developers.
• Participating in development sprints, and producing code for automation user stories.
• Leading code reviews for automation development.
What we’re looking for...
The Automation Engineering team in the Core Network Engineering department at Verizon is looking for a full stack web developer.
You'll need to have:
• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have:
• An advanced degree.
• Experience developing custom PHP web applications.
• Experience working on API development/integration.
• Telecommunications experience.
• Knowledge of full SDLC and Agile Scrum methodology.
• Proficiency in these technologies: PHP , MySQL/MariaDB , Javascript & jQuery , CSS & Bootstrap , AJAX/cURL REST APIs , Git
• Experience with these technologies: Cisco NSO , Netconf, Yang , SDN Overlay / Clos IP fabric networking (VXLAN, Segment Routing, Cisco VTS, Nokia Nuage VSD/SRIC) , Itential Automation Platform (IAP/Pronghorn) , Node.JS, MongoDB, ExpressScript, Angular (MEAN stack) , IP Networking, v4/v6, BGP, OSPF, MPLS , Cisco IOS/NX-OS/IOS-XR, JUNOS CLI , LTE EPC architecture , Linux/RHEL/OpenStack , Container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with Ansible , Postgresql , Composer & NPM , and CICD & Automated Testing.
