Senior FMS Systems Engineer - Telework
This position is the Senior Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Systems Engineer for the MQ-9 Reaper and will support various systems and associated sub-systems regarding engineering for the Medium Altitude UAS Division.
Essential Functions:
• Provide engineering support to accomplish FMS activities, investigation and rectification of issues affecting FMS, interfacing with both government and Contractor subject matter experts and other parties as required to address FMS inquiries, and in general to satisfy program needs.
• Support processes to evaluate operational capability requirements and determine adequate technical solutions; and independently apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, oversee, and evaluate development and sustainment activities.
• Provide advisory assistance / witnessing Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) for both aircraft and GCSs with the FMS Country representatives.
• Support, track and provide USAF existing documentation / information for country-specific airworthiness certification requirements IAW approved Delegation of Disclosure Letter (DDL).
• Assist the PM by analyzing operational capability requirements and provide advisory and draft documentation support for the management and preparation of key development, procurement, and sustainment planning documentation for efforts to include, but not be limited to; requirements definition, development of long-range plans, roadmaps, mission area plans, program plans, system integration plans, development of estimates for future budgets and program planning, contract actions (i.e., SOW, Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs) etc.), technical evaluation of proposals, status reports, briefings, test documentation, specifications, interface control documents, and other formal and informal documentation as required throughout the weapon systems life cycle.
• Provide meeting support to program management reviews, executive management reviews, test-related meetings (TRB, SRB, TRR, TPWGs, etc.), lab and flight test events, integrated product team meetings, software/hardware design reviews (i.e. PDR, CDR, FDR, etc.), platform integration meetings and meetings as otherwise required.
• Assist the PM by reviewing evolving requirements or deficiencies, investigating, and recommending potential solutions, assessing Contractor proposed design changes and solutions, overseeing the correction of deficiencies.
• Provide engineering support to address any technical issues affecting all aspects of overall weapons system integration, capability or performance improvements, and supportability/sustainability.
• Follow Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) Compliance as it applies to defense services for FMS cases.
• Support integration of various payloads, processing, and exploitation resources into the MQ-9 weapons system.
• Provide documentation and other support to address frequency allocation and assignment activities.
• Review and provide inputs to applicable military and commercial standards initiatives relating to responsibilities within the program.
• Other duties as assigned.
• This position will require travel 10-20% of the time.
Qualifications and Education:
• Must have Active Secret or (preferably) Top Secret/SCI clearance to apply
• A Bachelor's degree and 14 years' experience in a field relevant to functional area; or a Master's degree and 10 years' experience in a field relevant to functional area. At least 5 years of that experience must have been performed on DoD programs/projects.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Products to include Word, Excel, and Access
• Proficiency with Adobe Products to include Acrobat and Photoshop
• Experience in providing Defense services to foreign parties on behalf of the USAF and cognizant of ITAR that apply to assigned activities
