The Provider Network Ambassador is the face of the company in the provider community and will be a critical member of Delta Dental’s Provider Relations team. Responsibilities include maintaining the nationwide provider network to the overall persistence set by the enterprise for all lines of business, continuous provider education and outreach, as well as ensure provider network compliance is conducted within his or her assigned geographic area. This role will help develop and implement business intelligence and market analysis reports on the market place, collaborate with teams within the enterprise dental provider community to gain perspective on trends, issues and areas of opportunity to support the dental profession.
The incumbent must cultivate new and existing relationships with providers and their staff, internal business partners across the enterprise, local dental societies/dental associations as well as participate in all provider outreach and community focused events.
This position will work remotely. The individual should live in the territory as they will have responsibility for North Florida.
How you will make an impact: • Interacts professionally with the provider community
• Represents as the face of the company and point of contact for various organized dental associations
• Provide consultative support to providers and their staff so they reflect our service to our enrollees
• Educate and train providers so they provide high quality dentistry in compliance with contractual and community norms
• Ensures that the provider network size and stability meets client growth needs by reducing provider turnover while maintaining a profitable network
• Ensures that the provider network in assigned geographic areas is compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements by providing necessary training, ongoing education and on-site dental office reviews
• Conducts Quality Management follow-up; coordinate grievance information, including contact with office and record retrieval and resolution follow-up, as needed
• Reviews and analyzes internal data to determine network improvement needs
• Coordinate aspects of all dental conventions and provider workshops scheduled, as determined by Network Development leadership
• Tracks and reports on ongoing provider relations interactions using various application tracking mechanisms on a regular basis, including on-site visits to the practices
• Collects competitive information for ongoing competitor analysis and process improvement
• Works with Clinical Affairs leadership to monitor provider utilization patterns and recommend practice management tools to facilitate effective plan administration
• Participates on assigned committees and sales meetings to provide ongoing feedback using market conditions, industry trends, and provider insights
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned including, but not limited to, assisting other departments
What we look for: • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent successful work experience, preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of managed care experience, dental preferred
• A minimum of 3 years of front office dental administration and/or back office dental assisting experience, preferred
• Demonstrated experience in provider network management, customer service and/or account management
• A strong commitment to excellent customer service as demonstrated by consistently meeting deadlines and effective relationship building
• Strong planning and organizational skills including time management skills, collaboration, and business analysis skills.
• Strong consultative, facilitation, and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability in interpersonal and provider relations skills, including verbal, written, communication and presentation skills as well as experience in negotiating, problem solving and conflict management
• Ability to successfully apply Professional Selling Skills (PSS) principles in provider retention
• Ability to interpret various forms of information, including key information about marketplace and provider perceptions.
• Serves as a communication link between providers and the company
• Ability to effectively interface with employees at all levels.
• Knowledge of Current Dental Terminology (“CDT”) codes and dental nomenclature.
• Knowledge of enterprise’s processing policies and procedures
• Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback and/or industry related feedback.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately share information on a need to know basis.
• Ability to operate in an environment of rapidly changing priorities.
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects, a demanding workload, and tight timelines.
• Knowledge of dental and general insurance procedures.
• PC literacy; MS Office skills (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to travel by car and air.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to travel and sustain company expenses for a period of one month.
• Able to operate and maintain a personal car for company business in a proper, safe, and responsible manner.

Due to the pandemic, the expectation around work location for certain roles may be remote until a future date, determined by Delta Dental Management.
