Job Description
Are you an experienced SAS programmer and interested in joining our world-class Department of Hematology team? The Department of Hematology is looking for a candidate who is a self-starter, analytical thinker, adept communication, and detailed driven individual to coordinate diverse data sets in support of our Hematology research teams. The ideal candidate will be very comfortable programming in SAS daily and familiar with Tableau, SQL and survey design systems to manage protocol research data. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with Principle Investigators, Scientists, Statisticians, and other staff concerning various study data points. This position affords the opportunity to be involved in a longitudinal research study on Sickle Cell Disease. This individual must be able to independently integrate, assemble, manipulate, summarize, and disseminate data from numerous disparate systems. Y ou will enjoy this job if you have a passion for public health and enjoy putting the pieces together to achieve end results with clinical trials that will ultimately change the course of hematologic diseases.
Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Use various applications to maintain and update large databases, reviews database designs, and ensure consistency of standards procedures and content
• Assemble, manipulate, analyze, and disseminate data
• Serves as the primary individual responsible for the integration of information from various disparate data information systems
• Bachelor's degree required
• Bachelor's degree in health sciences, computer science or related field preferred
• Certification as a SAS Base Programmer preferred
• Two (2) years of experience in database design involving experience with database and software validation, current querying tools and knowledge of relational database structures and methodologies required
• Experience with SAS programming and data management required
• Clinical database experience preferred
