Job Summary:
+ The COPE Adult Peer Support Specialist will provide crisis response to and through, strength-based assessment of persons with mental illness and substance use problems.
+ They will serve as a fully integrated COPE team member to provide expertise about the recovery process, symptom management, and the persistence required by clients.
+ Service provision will focus on working with clients to enhance their recovery during and immediately following a crisis episode through COPE services.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Must be a past or present client of substance use services with a history of sufficient progression toward recovery.
+ Awareness of the importance of recovery in living with a mental illness or addictions problem.
+ Past experience working directly with people in a service oriented field is beneficial, but not required.
+ Must possess and maintain valid driver's license and have access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use.
