AppDynamics Senior Technical Lead
An engineering position in the CTI Monitoring & Logging group that will play a key role in Architecting, Planning and Developing solutions for various critical on-prem and public cloud infrastructure performance monitoring initiatives within the enterprise. Focus is on systems and application performance monitoring, using existing monitoring tooling.
Responsibilities:
• Drive engineering and certification of infrastructure monitoring tools and services for on-prem infrastructure monitoring and multi-vendor public cloud services.
• Development of custom tooling for extensions and integrations of monitoring tools with external systems, such as CMDB, ServiceNow.
• Develop infrastructure and service monitoring blueprints and deployment guidelines for operations and application teams.
• Develop executive summary reporting.
• Follow good engineering practices and concepts and adhere to audit requirements and understand corporate compliance issues and requirements.
• Manage identified software vulnerabilities, work with vendor to develop remediations, and track to resolution.
• Work closely with engineering, operations, and applications teams across Citi to understand and collect monitoring requirements.
Qualifications:
• Deep knowledge of AppDynamics product required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience engineering 3rd party software products and managing solution requirements with vendor.
• At least base-level experience with AWS services, including EC2 and CloudWatch monitoring services.  Comfort with instrumentation of those platforms/services along with legacy VM or physical on-premises hosts, on-premises container-based runtimes.
• Strong skillset required in Linux (RHEL) and Windows; OS concepts and services and boot-time dependencies; end-to-end testing andperformance/scalability product customizations on those host platforms.   High level of comfort with shell scripting and shell usage required.
• Knowledge of other industry-leading performance monitoring tools is a plus.
• Working knowledge of protocols including HTTP, LDAP; data formats including XML and JSON, basic knowledge of end-to-end transport security (SSL/TLS).
• Working knowledge of languages as actively used within Citi for module/library/jar integration and APM performance impact, such as with Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, C++.
• Familiar with end-user monitoring, real-user monitoring, and/or synthetic monitoring products and solutions.
• Working knowledge of network usage related to an application/OS stack performance and stability (e.g., packet capture and analysis, performance of application TCP listeners, client > server TCP negotiation, impact and management of firewalls on test environments or DMZ production environments, usage of load balancer or network failover)
• Understanding of Active Directory-based authentication and Role Based Access Control.
• Understanding of Functional IDs, and secure access controls such as 2-factor authentication or CyberArk.
• Experience with tools like Bitbucket/Git, Artifactory, JIRA, Confluence, Twistlock is a plus.
• Knowledge of Docker containers, Kubernetes, Openshift will be a plus.
