Job Summary Collects, prepares, and distributes linen by mechanical or manual means through all phases of laundry operations in a safe and efficient manner as directed by supervisor. # Job Responsibilities Collects, sorts, washes, dries, and folds linens and uniforms. Adheres to infection control guidelines when handling soiled items. Performs daily inventory to ensure clean linens and uniforms are accurately stocked and distributed. Identifies stock shortages and notifies management. Mends or disposes of damaged linens and uniforms according to departmental policies. Operates all laundry equipment according to operating instructions and departmental policies. Maintains work area and equipment in clean, safe condition. Helps unload truck when new linen arrives. Folds rolled linen for items that go in nurse server. Distributes exchange carts to floors and linen for milk runs. Responds rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies, special needs. Qualifications High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred No experience required No licensure/certification/registration required Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
