We are seeking a highly-motivated individual with a bachelor/master’s degree in cell biology or other related field to join our research team. The ideal candidate will enjoy having broad responsibilities and is skilled at working on multiple projects concurrently. The Research
Technician will report directly to the Associate Director of Research and will carry out tasks related to contract work to be conducted for clients, as well as company-internal research & development efforts.
The main responsibilities of the Research Technician are to:
• Perform multi-color flow cytometry experiments
• Conduct experiments working with cell culture, patient blood and tumor tissue
• Work with nucleic acid, including RNA/ DNA extraction and quantification
• Run gene expression profiling assays
• Carry out independent projects and join in team efforts for larger scale experiments
• Help maintain inventory, instrument maintenance and reagent preparation
• Prepare technical reports to clearly communicate research findings
• Perform other duties as assigned
Location: Tampa, FL
Preferred hours: 10am– 6pm
Full-time
Tuesday –Saturday or Wednesday –Sunday preferred
Requirements:
• Experience in cancer biology or related field, areas of research interest include (but are not limited to) immuno-oncology; tumor metabolism; cancer signaling; and tumor microenvironment.
• Master’s degree with two years’ experience or bachelor’s degree with four years’ experience working for a biotech/pharmaceutical company or in academia is required.
• Proficiency in standard biochemical, cellular and molecular techniques (DNA/RNA extraction and quantification).
• Experience with multi-color flow cytometry required.
• FlowJo experience preferred.
• Tissue handling and histology experience preferred.
• Licensed Medical Technician preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, task oriented including expertise in the analysis of data.
• Ability to appropriately communicate sensitive information and to judge how and with whom this information should be shared.
• Advanced computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office suite of applications.
• Ability to foster a collaborative, customer-oriented working environment.
• Demonstrated record of initiative, problem solving, and adaptability.
• Strong listening, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to effectively interact with stakeholders.
• Completion of CITI training and confidential handling of personalized health and client information.
