Job Description
The Department of Infectious Diseases is conducting the ENSEMBLE study, a large scale COVID Vaccine Trial. There is an immediate need for a Processing Lab Technician to assist with study related laboratory requirements for the duration of the 2 year study period .
The position responsibilities include assisting with prompt, efficient, accurate collection, processing, storage, tracking and shipping of research related laboratory tests, quality assurance activities and research data entry.Operates under general supervision.
• Associate's Degree or completion of NAACLS approved Medical Laboratory Technician program or equivalent in concordance with current Federal and State Regulations required
• Six (6) years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician of which at least two (2) years of experience with troubleshooting procedural , quality control, and equipment issues required
• Tennessee licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician required
• Eligibility requirements will be in compliance with current State of Tennessee Division of Health Related Boards
• IATA certification for packing and shipping human specimens (obtained after hired)
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP or AMT preferred
• Research certification within 3 years of employment or knowledge of new requirement
