Overview
The Ticketing Manager is responsible for overall box office and ticketing operations for both the Owensboro Convention Center and the Owensboro Sportscenter.  The Ticketing Manager provides support to both internal staff and external clients by marketing and selling OwensboroTickets.com, coordinating with promoters on ticket builds and reports, and managing daily operations of the box office.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for OwensboroTickets.com, a regional ticketing platform includes the Owensboro Convention Center, Owensboro Sportscenter, and other outside agencies
• Acts as systems administrator for ticketing system and liaison between internal staff and external clients
• Builds events into the ticketing system including seating manifests, holds/kills, price tables, discounts, pre-sales, etc
• Reconcile cash to sales reports at the end of each event
• Sell and scan tickets as needed
• Prepares various reports including ticket audits, ticket sales reports, and ad hoc reports as directed
• Explores new ticket system features, updates, and troubleshoots problems
• Supports sales efforts by advising internal departments on best ticketing practices
• Coordinates with Marketing on setting up promotions, specials, and discounts
• Supervises box office staff including ticket sellers and ticket scanners
• Mails tickets to customers as appropriate
• Markets and prospects new OwensboroTickets.com clients
• Exercise confidentiality and integrity upon handling personal and financial customer information
• Analyze challenges, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of organizational objectives
• Management of all aspects of customer service as it relates to both internal and external customers, enforcing customer service principles and corporate initiatives
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business management, sports management, business administration or other related field; or comparable professional experience
• Minimum of 2- 4 years of increasingly responsible box office/ ticketing experience, preferably with a sports facility, convention center, performing arts facility or other multi-purpose public assembly facility
• Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, extended (long) work days and extended numbers of days based upon event calendar
• Superior customer service skills including but not limited to thoughtful listening, oral and written communication skills
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) either manually or through the use of a calculator
• Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing
• Ability to read and make inferences from written sales materials
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, graphic design, PowerPoint and Internet software
• Demonstrated knowledge and use of ticketing software, terminology
