You Will Be Responsible For:
• Proactively initiates process improvement ideas. Assists with clinical instruction and presenting, and serves as a resource person to lower level therapists.
• Supports hospital and department mission, goals, and department metrics. Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies on a continual basis.
• Responds to all Code Blue emergencies immediately providing CPR according to the American Heart Association and performs other duties as directed.
• Performs airway maintenance including: proper use of manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, airway suctioning, LMA insertion intubation, extubation, assist with tracheostomy insertion, perform tracheostomy tube change, assist with bronchoscopy, and procedural respiratory support.
• Properly utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and conferring with multidisciplinary team to determine efficacy of therapy in a cost and time efficient manner making appropriate recommendations and changes per protocol.  Performs respiratory therapies and oxygen delivery therapies and makes recommendations to the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
What You Will Need:
• Minimum requirements: Graduate of AMA approved program for Respiratory Care. Registered by NBRC. Licensed by the appropriate state with blood gas endorsement. CPR certified in basic life support. RRT credential. Must have a minimum of five years of hospital-based clinical experience. Must have strong clinical background in adult, pediatric and neonatal Critical Care, with a minimum of two years’ experience in critical care.
• 1 year supervision/leadership experience of a Respiratory department
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, required and NRP certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy degree, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Team Leader works under the guidance of the Director of Respiratory Services . The RT Team Leader is responsible for the direct supervision of respiratory clinical personnel involved in the delivery and coordination of respiratory services for all patient populations and hospital service areas in accordance with Respiratory Therapy department Protocols, Policies & Procedures to provide safe, appropriate patient care during his/hers assigned clinical shift. The RT Team Leader shall also provide clinical coverage in the capacity of an Advanced Level clinical therapist (RT2), Adult Critical Care Specialist (RTSPA), Pediatric Critical Care Specialists (RTSPP) when needed as clinical back up or staff flexing is needed to meet the needs and demands of patient acuity level. The RT Team Leader responsibilities will include administrative, educational, and supervisory responsibilities as outlined in the job specific responsibilities.
