ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY*
The Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS) relies upon advanced technologies to provide a platform for its educational and research activities. These include training simulators, audio-visual and information technology capabilities (ITC) including simulation recording, staff training and equipment management for training purposes. Smooth technical operations are vital to the day-to-day operation of the CAMLS Simulation and Bioskills Labs.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Simulation Manager is responsible for coordinating and facilitating high-quality, clinical simulation-based education activities; effectively managing personnel in the simulation and surgical bioskills labs; providing department administrative management; and enforcing safety /compliance measures. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and Technology.

Educational Requirements
B.S. in Nursing
Experience Requirements
Current license as an RN in state of practice
3 years’ full time clinical experience
3 years’ experience as a clinical educator, coordinator or equivalent
2 years’ experience coordinating in healthcare education, quality assurance, or patient safety
Skill Requirements
Clinical/technical competence; verbal and written communication; facilitation of team-based environments; problem-solving; customer service; must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.. Work afterhours and weekends, as required
Preferred Attributes
Master’s Degree in healthcare or related field from an accredited institution
Experience overseeing simulation-based educational programs in a hospital or healthcare system
Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator® (CHSE®) certification
Supervisory experience
Experience working with highly technical audio/visual equipment

Administration
Accountable for the administrative and procedural decisions relating to the simulation and bioskills labs. Provides management and oversight to ensure effective execution and compliance for department staffing, budgeting, and programming.
Develops and employs strategies to effectively collaborate across all departments, such as business development, accounting, scheduling education to facilitate new business, enhance existing business arrangements, manage budgeting, and ensure resources are available to support program coordination.
Develops operations systems to establish and maintain protocols; inventory management; safety procedures and risk management; department compliance
Personnel management to include recruiting, training, scheduling for all activities in the Simulation and Bioskills Labs. Serves as mentor to staff and establishes a work environment that fosters teamwork, communication, efficiency and effectiveness
Develops and interprets policies and procedures; ensures compliance; and provides training to staff as needed. Enforces USF, HPCC, State of Florida and other relevant governing body guidelines and regulations. Creates and implements department goals that embody the CAMLS mission and vision statements. Establishes and demonstrates professional conduct and practices with internal and external clients.

Coordination
Coordinate the daily Simulation, Bioskills and In Situ activities by collaborating with relevant parties
Responsible for project management of major initiatives through CAMLS project management and scheduling system.
Works with inter-professional groups to develop team scenarios as well as participates in research initiatives related to the mission of CAMLS

Duties
Educational Training
Assist faculty and clients in the development of simulation curriculum based on educational objectives.
Facilitates pre-simulation activities, ensures effective implementation of simulation scenarios; and facilitates the debriefing of learners, faculty and staff. Conduct post simulation activity analysis including gathering of metrics, data and learner surveys.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to build scenario, establish standardized procedures, update faculty and staff on schedules and maintenance, and provide technical support and advice.
Demonstrate intercultural and interprofessional competence in the development of curricula, course design, and teaching.
Identify opportunities for improvement, innovation, implementation and integration of patient simulation technology into existing curricula; Assesses programs and recommends changes to the course directors
Seek opportunities to develop and implement interactive and engaging programs by utilizing in-person, hybrid, and remote educational technologies.
Serves as clinical resource for non-clinical staff through team-based initiatives, grant researching and other identified opportunities.

Assists Director with annual budget preparation and manages costs against budget throughout year.
Responsible for inventory oversight and management; vendor relationships; collaborating with Finance to conduct audits; assist in purchasing capital equipment, manage budget expectations
Responsible for administration of proposal review; financial reconciliation; and reporting.
