Regional Director of Construction – East Region
Department: Operations
Operations Area: D.C. / Florida / Georgia / Maryland / North Carolina / Virginia
Reports to: National Director of Construction
Subordinates: Directors of Construction, Project Managers, General Superintendents, Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents.
Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday (some days may require more than 8 hours; some weeks may require additional workdays). May be required to attend industry/company functions outside of normal business hours.
Position Summary
The Regional Director of Construction is responsible for overseeing all construction operations within the assigned portfolio, with a special emphasis on the delivery of multiple significant (>$10M) efforts. Superior leadership skills are critical in overseeing the field crews in the Operations Department. The Regional DOC will represent Camp with the highest level of competence and professionalism. Additional responsibilities may include assisting the National Director of Construction and Vice President of Construction in the management of real estate portfolios including acquisition and disposition of real property.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
The Regional Director of Construction must communicate with other Camp employees, vendors, and subcontractors. The Regional DOC must have sufficient education, experience and communication skills (oral and written) to effectively discharge the assigned duties. Must be able to effectively use computer software including Outlook, Excel, Word and Project from remote locations. Microsoft NAV 360 preferred.
Responsibilities
The Regional Director of Construction represents Camp in company meetings, events, and on the jobsites. Responsible for the following key duties:
• Ensure that company’s core values, policies and procedures are lived and followed by all.
• Review opportunities identified by team that can be leveraged throughout the organization; review proposed project plan; oversee implementation and change process; measure, analyze and ensure results are documented; deploy system for continuous improvement.
• Develop, enhance and lead critical aspects of construction across the portfolio including, but not limited to production cadence, quality assurance, and proper use of key systems.
• Partner with Field Leadership to include, but not limited to, President of Construction and VP Sales.
• Monitor construction activities for each division to identify under performance. Review weekly Construction Production Report with the National Director of Construction and the Vice President of Construction to create and deploy assistance to affected divisions.
• Assist in the improvement, development of communication, reporting tools, standard forms, best practices, policies and procedures for various construction optimization efforts across the organization.
• Deliver exceptional value to our customers through high levels of production, organization
and quality of work.
• Lead a culture of safety with strict adherence to Camp safety guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Conduct periodic jobsite inspections, document findings and corrective actions.
• Assess and evaluate team on consistent basis based on Camps Core Values and GWC methodology.
• Interact with architects, engineers, designers, inspectors and other design professionals.
• Review engineering and architectural drawings and specifications to monitor progress and ensure
compliance with plans and schedules.
• Investigate and resolve client inquiries and complaints.
• Advise Leadership of problems with staff and projects.
• Create increased profitability through creative cost-saving measures.

Manages construction costs, identifying trends and proposing solutions to ensure cost efficiencies
Provides construction oversight and technical advice by reviewing project documents, including, but not limited to construction scopes of work, design development and drawings, contracts, bid specifications and documents, contract development and management, construction scheduling and inspections, contractor invoices and disbursements
Serves as subject matter expert on construction matters • Works with training manager to develop training for all construction section staff • Tracks close-out issues
