Hiring Salary/Salary Range: $47,000-$50,000
DUTIES:
• Serves as community liaison for research studies; facilitates recruitment, enrollment, and retention of older adult research participants including engaging African Americans/Blacks and Hispanics/Latinx who are at high risk for dementia.  Facilitates meeting all recruitment and retention goals throughout study enrollment period. Serves as the public relations coordinator for the study and communicates with media outlets.
• Develops and organizes events including community outreach, public relations and speaking events, and community advisory board meetings; Distributes mailings, as well as promotional- and marketing materials at key locations in the region; Develops press releases and manages contacts with media and other community organizations and partners such as social groups, medical facilities, community centers, libraries, and other outlets. Develops and distributes a regular newsletter and retention materials for study participants. Implements study marketing plan in collaboration with marketing professionals to ensure meeting recruitment and retention goals including diversity goals.
• Meets with other recruitment and retention personnel across multiple study sites and meets with relevant stakeholders to facilitate and troubleshoot accomplishing goals; Mobilizes research personnel to ensure implementation of marketing plan for successful enrollment and retention. May assist with recruitment material preparation, social media presence, and website development.
• Assists with other research support functions as needed including telephone screening for eligibility, testing of study participants, and administration of interventions.
• Conducts database entry and management and maintains documentation of material distributions, mailings, and contacts. Documents expenditures and ensures expenses are within budget.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):
Minimum Qualifications:
• This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a field directly related to the program responsibilities and one year of professional experience; or Master’s degree in an area of specialization appropriate for the program.
Preferred Qualifications:
• People-oriented and gregarious; Public relations, advertising, sales, and/or marketing experience; Experience using REDCap; Bilingual proficiency in Spanish; Research, management, and event coordinating experience; Connections in the Black/African American and/or Hispanic/Latinx communities.
