We offer drivers an option of company or walk-away lease agreement on one of Shelton’ trucks.
COMPANY DRIVERS: get 27% of the revenue of each load they haul. Drivers also get health, dental, 401k and vision plans if desired. This drivers are typically home every weekend.
Lease Purchase Drivers: get a walk away from the lease, meaning they can walk away at any point in time with NO penalty fees. NO credit check, No down payment, NO balloon payment!  You will choose which truck you want from the trucks we have on our yard. If for any reason you decide you want a different trucks, just let us know and we will work on getting you back to our terminal to get you swapped into another truck. We do not do an escrow payment for shop bills. The way it is done is case by case, depending on the work that needs to be done. We have a 24 hour road call service for any break down needs. You call into our road call and they will find the closest service respondent that we work with. You will travel to them if the truck is able, or we will send them to you if you cannot run the truck. We have a road call person here 24/7/365 to help assist you.  After service is provided for you, Shelton will take care of the bill immediately so nothing is due from you at the time of service. Once we receive the invoice for the service, our billing department contacts you to break up the service bill into manageable payments for you to repay.
As a lease purchase driver you get 68% of the revenue of each load you haul and 100% of the fuel surcharge of the load. Typically the average rate on our loads are $2-$4 per mile. This will vary depending on what loads you accept, what areas you run and how often you try to be home. We get our drivers home every weekend but you have the option to run over the weekend if you would like.
Payments on our trucks average at $450 each week, depending on which truck you choose. This payment is your truck note, tags, liability and insurance on the truck and cargo, and occupational health insurance on you. (occupational health insurance is your workman comp program) This payment is a set payment and will not change over the term of your lease.
We have a high success rate with our lease purchase program and over 90% of our drivers choose to take the lease purchase route with our company. One of the reason for the success is that we are always willing to work with our drivers.
