We are seeking a hospital-based Laboratory Manager like you to join our organization at Brandon Regional Hospital.
Brandon is a 422-bed acute care facility, and is dedicated to providing quality, relationship-based care that promotes healing. The facility offers a number of specialty services including the Heart and Vascular Center, where the latest cardiovascular surgery and minimally invasive techniques are performed and The Women’s Center which includes a 22-bed neonatal intensive care unit.

In this role, you will:
• Lead and monitor employee and departmental performance to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, timelines and regulatory requirements

Develop monitoring systems for the collection, documentation and reporting of quality assessment and improvement data; extracts pertinent information from quality assessment and improvement studies, initiates corrective action plans, and re-monitors results

Evaluate existing systems and processes and develops corrective action plans for service/quality trends identified Initiates changes and monitors for improvement

Ensure departments proactively respond to feedback from customers (internal and external) and implements improvement mechanisms to enhance the overall ability of the department to meet the customer’s needs for laboratory services

Concurrently monitor resource utilization, including payroll, supplies and expenses, client volume and revenue variation reports, outpatient volume reports, mileage and expense logs

Responsible to ensure the weekly and monthly corporate key indicators are an accurate measurement of past and current performance for a basis for proactive response to a changing environment

Prepare and submits capital expenditure requests, department projections and annual budget

Screen, interview and select qualified individuals for open positions within the department

Complete and conducts performance evaluations, counseling and development activities for all staff

Review and approve payroll time sheets, purchasing requisitions, check requests, and scheduling requests
You should have:
• A Bachelor’s Degree
• 3 years’ experience at a supervisory level in a clinical laboratory setting
• A Florida Supervisor’s license or the ability to obtain during interview process
• High-volume laboratory experience is helpful
• Minimum 3 licensures in following specialty areas, licensure in 5 areas is beneficial: • Blood Bank/Immunohematology
• Chemistry
• Hematology
• Histology
• Microbiology
• Serology/Immunology
