Position Overview
We are seeking a self-motivated Staff Accountant who will be responsible for being the main point of contact for all accounting functions and will be the liaison between our manufacturing facilities and our corporate office in Syosset, NY. This position requires extensive knowledge and commitment to our goals and services, with demonstrated excellence in Microsoft Excel.
Duties and responsibilities
• Monitor company accounts for inventory usage
• Reconcile receiving in our ERP system
• Accounts payable support – ensure proper documentation is being sent to our NY corporate office
• Review expense reports
• Maintain spending accounts and petty cash
• Cost/expense reduction monitoring
• Review and prepare daily reporting on material consumption
• Find root causes and creating solutions for cost drivers
• Payroll/Overtime monitoring
• Present reports to upper management
• Close manufacturing orders
• Reconcile material usages with production and inventory reports
• Report high consumption to plant management
• Purchase materials for production department
• Track purchases by department
• Work with Quality Assurance to ensure all supplier/material deviations are filed and track credits from suppliers
Qualifications
• Accounting experience in a manufacturing setting (3+ years)
• Quickbooks/ERP experience preferred
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong organizational and mathematical skills
• Strong verbal/written communication skills
• Must be able to multi-task
• Must have great attention to detail
