SUMMARY
Works with customers on category development initiatives which include developing and executing tactical and strategic business plans that facilitate the implementation of category development plans. Provides analytical support to one or more assigned accounts by monitoring syndicated consumer insight data, financial and business research, and account transactional data to uncover sales trends, investigate product demand and optimize merchandising strategies to discover sales opportunities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Conducts analysis and provides recommendations and suggestions to the organizations customers which includes interpreting and disseminating results to customers and helping identify business opportunities for Gallo products.
• Directly interfaces with customer category decision makers to recommend their category development practices.
• Works with customers to understand their needs and creates recommended solutions.
• Sells "Best Practices" concepts, philosophies and innovations to the retailer.
• Provides counsel on issues; creates customized business solutions and recommendations.
• Manages analytic projects from inception through completion; prioritizes and manages multiple projects.
• Uses space planning tools to create and analyze suggested schematics.
• Provides guidance and education to Gallo users regarding data tools, syndicated data usage, and best practices.
• Utilizes weekly, monthly, quarterly and YTD sales reports to monitor progress against objectives and serves as a foundation to redirect strategies where needed.
• Identifies opportunities to grow Gallo business across brick & mortar environment, customer's online platforms, and 3rd party platforms.
• Embrace the continuous improvement across Customer Development Standards of Performance: Strategy, Share of Customer, Distribution, Shelf, Cold Box, Visibility, and Retailer Advocacy.
• Demonstrates problem solving ability, through data analysis, to develop comprehensive solutions to business opportunities.
• Develops consultative relationships with customers and possesses strong presentation skills.
• Educates all Regional Winery employees and maintains absolute compliance with Federal, State and local laws, rules and regulations.
• Engages accounts and distributor personnel to ensure all e-Retail opportunities in marketplace are maximized.
• Supports commercialization of digital marketing programs and leverages digital assets.
• Embraces innovation and demonstrates entrepreneurial mindset –Driving future-focused change.
• Champions the adopting of new technologies to better perform job functions and to support the customer base.
• Assists in Customer Joint Business Plan development with account lead.
• Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree plus 2 years of category development or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Business, Economics, or Supply Chain plus 3 years of sales or category development experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of category development or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of category development or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
• Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
• Required to travel by airplane and automobile to conduct job duties, up to 25% of the time.
• Required to obtain Liquor License as required by state/locality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master of Business Administration degree plus 4 years of category development or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor of Business Administration degree plus 6 years of category development or sales experience.
• 3 years of Gallo account management or project analyst experience.
• Skilled in statistical analysis and problem solving. Including advanced data retrieval and manipulation for key insights.
• Skilled in communication, project management and analysis.
• Experience completing assignments that are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity.
• Experience with reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Experience with writing reports and business correspondence.
• Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, GCO, IRI, Spectra, MS Excel and ProSpace at a basic level.
• Skilled in working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Skilled in applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Skilled in interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Skilled in solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
