Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Payroll Supervisor, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, performs a variety of tasks requiring detailed knowledge of Payroll procedures. Position requires the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of internal and external customers. Actively participates in scheduled meetings and in process-improvement efforts. Demonstrates proficiency in spreadsheets and key/process a high volume of Payroll transactions in various automated environments. Demonstrates ability to identify, analyze and solve pay related problems. Demonstrates ability to perform complex payroll calculations. Functional knowledge of all jobs in the department. Performs other tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor. Possesses excellent oral communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to get along with others. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Required Skills
• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of three years of payroll, Accounts Payable, or bookkeeping experience or two years of college work with concentration on business or accounting and one year of payroll, Accounts Payable, or bookkeeping experience.
• Basic knowledge of data entry.
• Knowledge of spreadsheets.
• Ability to work in high volume environment and to meet processing schedules and deadlines.
• Ability to perform pay calculations.
• Good oral communication skills.
