Kforce has a client in search of a Payroll Specialist in Odessa, FL. Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Process bi-weekly, monthly, multi-state payroll for submission to payroll provider including preparation of FLSA OT calculations
• Perform payroll audits to ensure timely and accurate timesheet submissions
• Monitor payroll emails daily and resolve employee questions as they relate to payroll
• Process 401K loan and Dependent FSA payments
• Create tax accounts, track and report tax notices received, submit to payroll provider and communicate completed tasks to the Finance Director
• Reconcile quarterly 941 and annual W2 reporting
• Identify and suggest process changes to help automate payroll entries, reconciliation, and/or enhance the accuracy of the overall process
• Prepare month-end close entries such as payroll accruals, health insurance, and other payroll related entries
• Reconcile cash accounts and payroll liability accounts
• Other duties as required
• 5+ years of prior experience with payroll reporting including quarterly reports, taxes and W2's required
• Experience calculating multi state FLSA overtime and tax reporting
• Understanding variable pay arrangements required
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to include use of formulas, VLOOKUP's and pivot tables
• Solid knowledge of regulatory standards
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
• Detail oriented, organized and strong analytical skills required to meet strict deadlines
• Working knowledge and previous experience with UltiPro highly preferred
• Prior payroll experience in a manufacturing/service provider-based company preferred
