Job Description

We are seeking a self-motivated, proactive and reliable Construction Superintendent. Duties will include performing and coordinating all construction field activities on the projects assigned to you. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of commercial ground up building construction, with medical experience a plus, along with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and basic computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Procore is a plus.
Job Requirements and Responsibilities
• Minimum 5 years construction experience on ground up construction, $5 million in value and higher
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractors to maintain or improve the project schedule, ensuring that subcontractors provide the proper manpower to perform the work when it is needed in a time frame to meet or improve the schedule
• Ability to use survey instruments to confirm layouts.
• Assist Project Managers in management of projects to meet expectations of quality, schedule, and budget.
• Schedule, coordinate and chair subcontractor weekly meetings
• Schedule, coordinate and chair preinstallation meetings
• Assemble and distribute two-week look ahead schedules to subcontractors and vendors on a weekly basis
• Assist Project Manager in development of construction schedules
• Review subcontract agreements and purchase orders with all subcontractors/vendors
• Monitoring of OSHA Safety regulations
• Perform quality control daily
• Review and maintain jobsite plan sets, shop drawings and submittals
• Identify cost savings and/or time schedule reduction potential
• Provide timely reporting of project milestones, costs, changes and schedules.
• Negotiate with authorities having jurisdiction to achieve project occupancy milestones
• Write daily reports and RFI’s in a clear manner, editing work for spelling and grammar
• Ensure that project is clean and organized daily
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
• 5+ years’ experience as a Project Superintendent in the construction industry
• 2+ years’ experience in ground-up construction preferred
• Proficient in Windows operating systems and associated software
• Ability to work with numerous contractors and sub-contractors in an efficient manner
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
• Management skills, experience in team and project management
• Ability to work with and manage a large team of contractors and subcontractors seamlessly
• Critical thinker, problem solver
• Procore experience a plus
• Many opportunities locally, however preference would be ability to perform limited travel within the state
• Must have OSHA 30 Training
