Nu Vista is hiring a delivery driver to help us get our product to our customers.
Job Responsibilities
• Accurately pick inventory and load designated vehicle as completely as allowable based on individual customer invoice/pick tickets.
• Load vehicle in an orderly and organized fashion with consideration given to the safe and secured transportation of all products.
• Navigate to the customer location in a timely and safe manner
• Immediately inform management team of any deviations from route
• Unload and move product via handcart into customer facility as directed by the customer
• Pick up and return any product(s) to Nu Vista as requested with approved documentation
• Close & lock truck refrigeration doors when making multiple trips into an account
• Collect monies for C.O.D. (Due Upon Receipt) invoices or as otherwise directed and turn in monies to office personnel
• Pick up new inventory from approved vendors and return to Nu Vista or deliver as directed
• Unload new inventory and put stock away as directed by warehouse staff
• Frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds; frequently reach up to 72” to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart; constantly bend and twist while loading and unloading product, and retrieving items from trailer.
• Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures. Contact management for authorization when discrepancies on invoice and communicate all errors/returns.
• Possess a cell phone to maintain communication with the office or customers as needed
• Answer cell-phone when off-duty in extremely rare cases when your expertise is needed
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance with Nu Vista policies and procedures.
• Complete Department of Transportation (DOT) logs (electronic or manual as required), company vehicle maintenance reports and reconcile with appropriate company representative as required.
• Immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
• Maintain and safely operate all assigned equipment, including but not limited to hand cart, pallets, load bars, and personal protective equipment.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer and assist with maintaining sanitary conditions in the warehouse and yard.
• Attend all required company meetings.
Qualifications, Essential Skills, and Required Knowledge
• Must be 21+ years of age
• Must be available to work a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 50 hours based on a 5 day work week. Work hours are defined as the day to begin at 4:00 a.m. and usually end between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. This is a basic guideline as work hours may fluctuate daily as business demands.
• Valid CDL Class B License with a “clean” driving record (including: no single DUI in the last 3 years and no multiple DUIs within the last 7 years)
• 1 year commercial driving experience
• Operate vehicle in a variety of traffic and weather conditions.
• Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by management.
• Effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision.
• Develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.
• Maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations.
• Meet or exceed established cases per error goals.
• Demonstrate strong customer relations and problem resolution skills.
