The Senior Treasury and Risk Management Analyst will be responsible for cash forecasting and financial modeling and analysis, liquidity management and capital market transaction support, and debt administration. The role will also be responsible for developing analytical reports for senior management, using the bank credit and risk strategy guidelines to make an accurate assessment of the customers' credit, management, operational and financial status. As a key member of the corporate financial planning team, this position will interact with various internal and external stakeholder groups across a variety of functions. Reporting requirements include, but are not limited to, the Company’s officers, equity investors, debt holders, rating agencies, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Responsibilities
Risk Management
• Assess and analyze the credit worthiness of customers and counterparties through analysis of credit information such as financial statements, bank and trade references, & credit reports.
• Monitor current and potential exposures by compiling competitor, vendor and industry information and provide recommendations to management.
• Coordinate with commercial team on counterpart collateral including cash, letters of credit and parental guarantees. Also coordinates Receivables activity to monitor aged receivables to ensure timely collection.
• Support the implementation, coordination, and maintenance of improved reporting and functionality of a rigorous credit program
• Assist with insurance and risk management activities including reporting, renewals and claims management
Treasury
• Compile and analyze financial information to meet monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements
• Establish and report daily cash and debt positions for Southern Star and its subsidiaries; contribute to the overall cash management strategy
• Prepare/update short term cash forecast for Southern Star; review and consolidate subsidiary cash forecasts into consolidated cash forecast and free cash flow tracking; review and analyze cash flow trends and forecast variances and provide recommendations for overall improvements
• Assist in monitoring and management of the company’s debt, covenant compliance, interest expense and preparation of required investor reporting
• Assist with derivative operations including trade execution, mark to market valuations, regression testing, hedge accounting assessments, and analytical reporting.
• Manage bank relationships, assist with development of a cash management banking solution
• Manage and track investments and borrowings, makes short term borrowing and investing recommendations
• Identify and implement process improvements, efficiencies, and cost reduction activities
• Assist with internal and external reporting, various external audits, and annual budget process
Qualifications
Minimum:
• 6+ years of Accounting experience
• 3 – 5 years of progressive Finance experience, including at 2-3 years within a Corporate Treasury department
• Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or comparable discipline
• The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of debt capital markets and derivative products, ratings agency modeling, and proven skills in development of key management reporting and metrics.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting and financial principles including an understanding of hedge accounting and documentation.
• Knowledge of credit agreement terms and covenants.
• Ability to use Microsoft Applications is required, including advanced proficiency in Excel, knowledge of and experience with Navision or Oracle Fusion Financials a plus
• Superior analytical and modeling skills; ability to summarize detailed analyses/data into executive-level presentations.
Preferred:
• Master of Business Administration
• Certified Treasury Professional (CTP)
