Job Summary Responsible for internal and external communication and operates telephone software applications to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls. # Job Responsibilities Receives and relays internal and external calls and provides general information. Operates telephone software applications to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls. Operates the computerized system for patient transport including answering calls, entering information into patient transport system, assigning Ambassadors, and clearing the task when complete. Dispatches patient transport and security staff as needed to the correct direction including the use of proper radio etiquette to ensure accuracy. Maintains desk directories, on-call list, reference guides, and other associated reference materials. Receives and accurately prioritizes; distributes phone calls to providers and nursing staff as needed. Communicates codes, alerts, drills, and other announcements according to established policies and protocols including disaster management plans. Proficient in all software applications specific to the Communications Department. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion to ensure equipment is functional. Qualifications High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire No experience required No licensure/certification/registration required Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under general supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization.
